My dogs are both Belgian Malinois. They both come from excellent working lines but are still easy to live with when home. Read more about each of them:
Belgian Malinois are similar to German Shepherds. They are a bit smaller, a lot faster and easy to train. They tend to have a lower incidence of genetic disease due to less over breeding. GSD’s have a 19.1% incidence of Hip Dysplasia while Malinois only have 5.5% (OFFA). Commonly used as police dogs and for search and rescue, “The United States Secret Service and Royal Australian Air Force use the breed exclusively.” (Wikipedia).
